Frequently asked questions
Process & timeline
A focused marketing site is typically six to eight weeks from kickoff to launch. A larger site with a custom CMS, or an e-commerce build, usually runs ten to fourteen weeks. A single landing page is often two to three weeks.
The variable that moves those dates most is content. Projects where copy and imagery are ready — or where we are writing them as part of the engagement — land on schedule. Projects waiting on content from six different people do not.
Four stages. Discovery: we work through your customers, your competitors and what the site has to do commercially, then agree the site architecture. Design: full visual design of every key template, reviewed in the browser rather than as flat images. Build: production code, responsive from 375px up, with accessibility and performance checked as we go. Launch: content load, redirects, analytics, and a handover session with your team.
You see work every week. There is no month of silence followed by a big reveal — that is how projects end up in a redesign loop.
Two structured rounds at the design stage per template, plus a full review pass during build. In practice we rarely hit the limit, because you are reviewing work weekly rather than seeing it for the first time at the end.
Revisions cover refinement of the agreed direction. Starting over with a different concept after sign-off is a scope change, and we will say so plainly rather than absorbing it silently and rushing the rest.
Not if the migration is handled properly, which is most of the work in a redesign. We audit your current URLs and traffic, map every redirect, keep the content that is earning visibility, and monitor indexing after launch.
To be clear about scope: the technical groundwork — structure, semantics, speed, metadata — is part of every build. We do not run ongoing SEO campaigns, link building or paid media, and we will point you to specialists if that is what you need.
Most of our work is remote and always has been. Weekly calls, a shared workspace for feedback, and design reviewed in the browser rather than as static images.
Time zones have not been an issue as long as there is a two-hour overlap somewhere in the working day.
Pricing
Fixed price per project, quoted after a discovery conversation. You know the total before we start, and it does not move unless the scope genuinely changes — in which case we quote the change before doing it.
Most marketing sites fall between $10,000 and $35,000. E-commerce and larger content sites go higher. Single landing pages start lower. We will tell you honestly in the first call if your budget and your requirements are not going to meet.
Three instalments on most projects: a deposit to book the slot, a payment at design sign-off, and the balance before launch. Larger builds are split across more milestones so nobody is carrying too much risk.
The deposit is what reserves your place in the schedule. We only take on a few projects at a time, so that date is real rather than a sales tactic.
Getting started
To quote: a sense of what the site needs to do, roughly how many pages, your timeline, and your budget range. That is genuinely enough for a useful first conversation.
To start: a single decision-maker who can sign off, access to your current site and analytics if one exists, your brand assets if you have them, and whatever content already exists — even if it is rough. We will tell you what is missing.
We structure the content for every project — what each page says, in what order, and why. That is part of design, not an add-on.
Full copywriting is available as an add-on and we recommend it when the existing material is thin. For photography we art-direct and can bring in a photographer, or work with what you have and design around its limitations honestly.
Yes, and most of our projects do. We extend an existing brand into a digital system — type scale, colour usage, spacing, component behaviour — which is usually the part a print-oriented brand guide never covered.
If the brand itself is the problem, we will say so, but we are a web design studio and will not quietly rebrand you inside a website project.
After launch
Yes. Every site ships with a CMS configured around your actual content — not a generic page builder that lets anyone break the layout. Editors get fields that make sense and cannot produce a broken page.
Handover includes a recorded walkthrough for your team and written documentation for whoever joins later.
Thirty days of included support covering anything that is not behaving as it should, plus monitoring through the first indexing cycle after launch so we catch any search visibility issues early.
After that, an optional monthly care plan covers updates, dependency and security patching, uptime monitoring, backups and a small allowance of content changes. It is optional — the site is yours, and it does not depend on us to keep running.
You own everything: the design, the code, the content and the domain. We hand over the repository and the accounts at launch.
We usually deploy to Vercel or Netlify, in your account, on your billing. No proprietary platform, no licence you have to keep paying us for, no leverage over you if you decide to work with someone else later.
Still deciding?
Ask us the awkward question.
Budget, timeline, whether your existing site is worth saving — we would rather have that conversation now than three weeks into a project.
